The Mad Controller Reads the Railway Series is Calico TV's newest show. The show features The Mad Controller reading the Rev. W. Awdry's famous Railway Series - but not always as it's written! The show was created by Calico after the Mad Controller jokes in SteamTeam Quizzes became very popular. Calico wanted the Mad Controller to get his own spin-off and turned down SteamTeam's idea to have him cover Genesis songs (unsurprisingly!) and came up with the idea of having the Mad Controller read the infamous books. SteamTeam was not convinced that having the Mad Controller make fun of the books that are held in such high regard within the Thomas community was a good idea, so a pilot episode was put together with the intentions of asking viewers to give their feedback. The feedback was mainly positive so it was decided to go ahead with a full series.

 

Series one is currently being recorded and being released. Each series will contain four twenty minute episodes although it is too early to tell if the series will return for a second run.
